Summer at Smile Café Character Tier List

Envy (S Tier): The flagship route. Envy combines café workplace drama with genuine emotional depth. Her confidence masking vulnerability creates compelling tension, and the Nicole rivalry subplot adds replay value. CG quality is among the best in the game. Medium difficulty — recommended as first or second route.

Manager (S Tier): The lore route. The Manager's storyline reveals Smile Café's history and connects to every other route through backstory revelations. Highest writing quality but hardest to unlock — requires staff trust building. Best for second playthroughs when you know the café cast.

Zoe (A Tier): The comfort route. Zoe's boundless energy and straightforward affection make this the easiest, most relaxing path. Ideal first route for visual novel newcomers. Lower dramatic stakes but consistently entertaining.

Nicole (A Tier): The drama route. Nicole's jirai-kei personality and jealousy arc deliver the game's most intense emotional swings. Requires navigating the Envy-Nicole triangle carefully. High reward for players who enjoy complicated relationships.

Renee (A Tier): The mature route. Renee offers a worldly, teasing dynamic outside the café setting. Her corporate background and experienced personality provide a different flavor from staff routes. Medium difficulty with excellent late-game scenes.

Ada (B Tier): The hidden gem. Ada's route rewards patience with surprisingly emotional depth, but her self-deprecating personality and slow start deter some players. Hard difficulty due to easily missed choices. Worth playing for the emotional payoff.

Yuna (B Tier): The quirky route. Yuna's kigurumi-themed storyline is unique and humorous but lighter on dramatic weight. Easy to access and complete — great palette cleanser between heavier routes.

Miss Mango (B Tier): The grounded route. Miss Mango's supermarket setting and money-focused personality complement the freelance mechanics narratively. Easy route with fewer CGs but charming character development.

First playthrough: Zoe or Envy — learn mechanics with a strong route.

Second playthrough: Manager or Nicole — experience the game's deepest storylines.

Third+ playthroughs: Renee, Ada, Yuna, Miss Mango — complete remaining routes and CG collection.
