All Endings in Summer at Smile Café

Summer at Smile Café features multiple endings for each of its eight romanceable characters. This guide documents every ending variant, its requirements, and how to avoid bad endings during your playthrough.

Ending Types Explained

Each character route has up to three ending variants: true ending (happy resolution, full CG scene), alternate ending (bittersweet or incomplete resolution), and bad ending (relationship failure). True endings unlock the character's "Happy End" achievement.

Ending determination happens during the final two chapters based on accumulated affection, key mid-game choices, and financial status. The game does not display affection numbers — learn to read character behavior cues instead.

For CG collectors, true endings include the route's final gallery scene. See the CG unlock guide for gallery completion tracking.

Staff Endings

Envy True Ending: Maintain high affection throughout; support Envy during the Nicole confrontation; achieve 85%+ on the mid-route drawing mini-game. Alternate: remain neutral during Nicole conflict. Bad: dismiss Envy's feelings during confession.

Zoe True Ending: Choose playful dialogue consistently; complete the drink-making mini-game successfully; attend the group outing event. Bad: ignore Zoe's invitations for three consecutive days.

Nicole True Ending: Navigate the Envy jealousy arc with honesty; choose supportive responses when Nicole discovers secrets. Bad: lie about Envy relationship or ignore Nicole after the confrontation.

Ada True Ending: Never choose harsh dialogue; encourage Ada during every mistake scene; visit during evening shifts. Bad: mock Ada's clumsiness during the chapter 2 incident.

Manager True Ending: Build staff trust; visit café after 9 PM during week 3+; maintain 2,000+ currency for the final event. Bad: ignore Manager's personal questions or side with problematic customers against staff.

External Character Endings

Renee True Ending: Accept teasing with humor; attend the corporate event; maintain 2,000+ currency. Bad: respond with anger to Renee's bossy behavior consistently.

Yuna True Ending: Visit apartment regularly; participate in costume events with open-minded choices. Bad: refuse all costume-related invitations.

Miss Mango True Ending: Visit supermarket after commissions; help Miss Mango with motivation subplots. Bad: criticize her work ethic harshly.

Detailed route strategies for each character are on their individual guide pages linked above.

Completionist Ending Strategy

To see all endings efficiently: complete true endings first (one per playthrough), then use chapter select to replay final chapters with different choices for alternate and bad endings. Bad endings typically require deliberately low affection or wrong confession responses.

Each ending unlocks gallery entries and achievements. Track progress with the achievement checklist. The "Gallery Master" achievement requires true endings for all routes plus every bonus CG.

Plan your route order using the tier list and route planner. The full story walkthrough flags save points before ending branches.

After Endings — New Game Plus Elements

After your first ending, new game features unlock: chapter select, gallery replay, and music room. Subsequent playthroughs let you skip read text and fast-forward through completed scenes, making additional route completion significantly faster.

Affection from previous playthroughs does not carry over, but your understanding of choice consequences does. Most players complete all true endings within 4-6 playthroughs over 40-60 total hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many total endings exist?

Up to 24 ending variants across 8 characters (true, alternate, and bad for most routes). Exact count depends on route-specific branches.

Can I get true endings on the first try?

Yes, especially for Easy-difficulty routes like Zoe and Yuna. Hard routes like Manager and Ada benefit from guide knowledge.

Do bad endings lock content?

Bad endings prevent the true ending CG for that playthrough but do not permanently lock gallery content. Replay for the true ending.
